Adding data to a template

There are three ways to attach data to a template, in the form of a Record Set.

• Open a data mapping configuration: If a data mapping configuration is open at the same time as a template, its resulting record set is available in the Record Pane of the Template.
• Adding data from a data mapping configuration:
• • In the Menus, go to File, Add Data, From DataMapper configuration.
  • Browse to the location of the data mapping configuration, select it and click Open.
  • If the configuration requires a data file, browse to the location of a data file, select it and click Open.
  • The record set resulting from the data mapping configuration is available in the Record Pane of the Template.
• Adding data directly from a file data source:
• • In the Menus, go to File, Add Data, From File Data Source...
  • Follow the instructions on Adding data from a File Data Source.
  • The data from the file data source is available in the Record Pane of the Template.
• Adding data directly from a database data source:
• • In the Menus, go to File, Add Data, From Database Data Source...
  • Follow the instructions on Adding data from a Database Data Source.
  • The data from the database data source is available in the Record Pane of the Template.

Note: Only promotional data can be added from a data source. Transactional data (detail tables) requires a data mapping configuration.
