Additional QR Code Settings

Use the following options to configure the output barcode settings:

  • Position group:
    • Orientation: Use the drop-down to select the orientation of the barcode added to the page.
    • Left: Enter the distance between the left margin of the page and the barcode, in inches (in).
    • Bottom: Enter the distance between the bottom margin of the page and the barcode, in inches (in).

    Barcode-specific properties:

    • Size by:
      • By area:
      • By module width:
    • Size:
    • Minimum module width:
    • Encoding: Define the encoding of the barcode:
      • Auto: when selected the library determines the encoding based on the supplied string.
      • Numeric: 7089 numerical characters.
      • Alphanumeric: 4296 alphanumerical characters.
      • Byte: 2953 characters.
      • Kanji: 1817 characters.
    • Version: There are 40 sizes of QA codes, select the preferred version for the QR code.
    • Correction Level: Part of the robustness of QR codes in the physical environment is their ability to sustain “damage” and continue to function even when a part of the QR code image is obscured, defaced or removed. A higher correction level duplicates data within the QR Code to that effect, which makes it larger.
    • Use ECI for encoding messages as bytes:

    • Use FNC1: Check to enable FNC1.
      • Position: This mode indicator identifies symbols encoding data formatted according to  the UCC/EAN Application Identifiers
      • Second: This Mode Indicator identifies symbols formatted in accordance with specific Industry or application specifications previously agreed with AIM International. You must then set a value for the Application Indicator property.
      • Application ID: Enter the QR-Code Format application indicator used by Industry FNC option.
      • Print human readable text: Check to add a textual version of the Barcode data. Not available for two dimensional (2D) barcodes such as QR and PDF417.
        • Placement: Use the drop-down to select whether to place the human readable text above or below the Barcode.
        • Font name: Use the drop-down to select the font with which to display the human readable text.
        • Font size: Enter a font size for the human readable text.
    • Text: Enter the text used to generate the Barcode.
      • Add button: Click to display a list of variable data that can be added to the Barcode. This includes metadata fields added in the Metadata Options, as well as some information fields.
    • Condition: Enter the condition by which the Barcode is shown on the page.
      • Add button: Click to display a list of metadata fields, information fields to add, or common expressions to the condition.
