Text Object

You can display text on your page using a mix of static and variable text. Variable text is generally constructed using pieces from your database, sometimes using conditions to control what text appears and when.

To add a text object to your document:

Click on the Text Object button in the Tools toolbar ()
Using your mouse, create a box on the document by clicking and holding the mouse button where you want one corner to be, then moving the mouse to where you want the opposite corner and letting go of the button.
Start typing your text using static text and variables (see Working With Variables).
You can apply styles and formatting to your paragraphs and text. See Text Style and Paragraph Style).
Click outside of the text object to see the result as it will appear.

You can also create a text box of the default size by dragging a Database Field onto your page. This creates a text box that contains one variable with the same name as your data field, and that variable will have the data field as an expression.

Align it with other objects (see Aligning Objects) and arrange it (see Arranging Objects).
Lock it (see Locking Objects)
Link it with other text objects (see Linking Text Objects)
Anchor it with other objects (see Anchored Objects)
